It is the policy of the Board of Supervisors to give public notice of vacancies on Boards & Commissions for a period of up to 35 days (State requirement of 10 days) so that interested persons may apply for appointment. Listed below are the Boards Commissions that have positions available for appointment. These are arranged by the Supervisorial District that will make the appointment. Also included is information relating to the qualifications for appointment, the length of the term, and the commencement expiration dates of the term. Advisory Commission on Consumer Affairs	Vacant
Nominee shall represent the public at large. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008. Authority to nominate will remain with District 5 until term expires on June 30, 2011. (Vacant position formerly held by Andrea Eaton.)
Certification Appeals Board	Vacant
Nominee shall represent the public at large. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008. Authority to nominate will remain with District 5 until term expiration on June 30, 2011. (Vacant position formerly held by Jean Ernst.)
Citizens' Advisory Commission on Elections	Vacant
Appointee shall be a resident of Supervisorial District 5. Appointment is for an allocated term not exceeding 3 years, with expiration date to be determined. (Vacant position formerly held by Hannah Yu.) Appointment may be made on or after January 14, 2010.
Commission on the Status of Women	Vacant
APPOINTMENT PENDING ON FEBRUARY 9, 2010 Appointee shall represent the public at large. Appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2009 and will expire on June 30, 2012. (Vacant position formerly held by Patricia Erwin.) Vacancy posted January 6, 2010; appointment may be made on or after January 21, 2010.
Correctional Industries Advisory Board	Vacant
Nominee shall be a representative of a Chamber of Commerce. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008. Authority to nominate will remain with District 5 until term expiration on June 30, 2011. (Vacant position formerly held by Sandra Moll.)

Nominee shall represent the public at large. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2009. Authority to nominate will remain with District 5 until term expiration on June 30, 2012. (Incumbent Michael Tucker is eligible for reappointment.)
Council on Equal Employment Opportunities	Expired
Appointee shall represent the Latino community at large. Appointment is for a rotating 4-year term which commenced on July 1, 2007. Authority to appoint will remain with District 5 until term expiration on June 30, 2011. (Incumbent Fred Villasenor is eligible for reappointment.)
Fairgrounds Management Corporation	Expired
Appointeee shall represent the public at large. Appointment is for an allocated 1-year term which commenced on January 1, 2010 and will expire on December 31, 2010. (Incumbent Patrick Meyering is eligible for reappointment.)
HIV Health Services Planning Council	Vacant
Nominee shall be a representative of a State Medicaid agency and must be nominated by the California Department of Health Care Services. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 2-year term which commenced on January 1, 2009. Authority to appoint will remain with District 5 until term expiration on December 31, 2010.

Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 2-year term which commenced on January 1, 2010. Lower Peninsula Flood Control and Watershed (Northwest Zone)	Expired
Nominee shall reside within the zone they represent. Nomination for a representative for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for an allocated 2-year term which commenced on January 1, 2010 and will expire on December 31, 2011. (Incumbent Joseph Diaz is eligible for reappointment.)
Public Authority for In-Home Supportive Services Advisory Board	Vacant
Nominee shall be a mobility-impaired person who is an advocate for the disabled and who currently serves or who has served on a disability advisory committee, board or commission within the County. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 4-year term which commenced on July 1, 2006. Authority to appoint will remain with District 5 until term expiration on June 30, 2010. (Vacant position formerly held by David Julian.)

Appointee shall be a registered voter and reside in the District. Appointment is for an allocated 4-year term which will commence on January 1, 2010 and will expire on December 31, 2013. (Incumbent Victoria Bosworth is eligible for reapppointment.)
