It is the policy of the Board of Supervisors to give public notice of vacancies on Boards & Commissions for a period of at least 10 days, as required by State law, so that interested persons may apply for appointment. Below are the Boards & Commissions that currently have positions available for appointment, listed in order by the Supervisorial District that will make the appointment. Also included is information relating to the qualifications for appointment, the length of the term, and the commencement and expiration dates of the term. Advisory Commission on Consumer Affairs	Vacant
Nominee shall represent the public at large. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008. Authority to nominate will remain with District 5 until term expires on June 30, 2011. (Vacant position formerly held by Andrea Eaton.)
Airports Commission	Expired
Appointee shall represent the aviation community. Appointment is for an allocated 4-year term which commenced July 1, 2010 and will expire on June 30, 2014. (Incumbent Robert Lenox is eligible for reappointment.)
Certification Appeals Board	Vacant
Nominee shall represent the public at large. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008. Authority to nominate will remain with District 5 until term expiration on June 30, 2011. (Vacant position formerly held by Jean Ernst.)

Nominee shall be a current or retired deputy probation officer or parole agent. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2010. Authority to nominate will remain with District 5 until term expiration on June 30, 2013. (Vacant position formerly held by Nydia Smith.)
Correctional Industries Advisory Board	Vacant
Nominee shall be a representative of a Chamber of Commerce. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2008. Authority to nominate will remain with District 5 until term expiration on June 30, 2011. (Vacant position formerly held by Sandra Moll.)
Council on Equal Employment Opportunities	Vacant
Appointee shall represent the Latino community at large. Appointment is for a rotating 4-year term which commenced on July 1, 2007. Authority to appoint will remain with District 5 until term expiration on June 30, 2011. (Vacant position formerly held by Fred Villasenor.)
Council on Equal Employment Opportunities	Expired
Appointee shall represent the women's community at large. Appointment is for a rotating 4-year term which commenced on July 1, 2010. Authority to appoint will remain with District 5 until term expiration on June 30, 2014. (Incumbent Rosemary Knox is eligible for reappointment.)
County of Santa Clara/Moscow Sister County Commission	Expired
Appointee shall have demonstrated interest or participation in matters pertaining to the relationship between Russia and the United States. Appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2010 and will expire on June 30, 2013. (Incumbent Edward Peterson is eligible for reappointment.)
County of Santa Clara/Moscow Sister County Commission	Expired
Appointee shall have demonstrated interest or participation in matters pertaining to the relationship between Russia and the United States. Appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2010 and will expire on June 30, 2013. (Incumbent Frank Verlot is eligible for reappointment.)
Domestic Violence Council	Vacant
Appointee shall be a judge of the Santa Clara County Superior Court, Family Court Division. Appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2009. Authority to appoint will remain with District 5 until term expiration on June 30, 2012. (Vacant position formerly held by Judge Carol Overton.)
HIV Health Services Planning Council	Vacant
Nominee shall be a representative of a State Medicaid agency and must be nominated by the California Department of Health Care Services. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for a rotating 3-year term which commenced on January 1, 2009. Authority to appoint will remain with District 5 until term expiration on June 30, 2012. (Seat 28)
HIV Health Services Planning Council	Vacant
Nominee shall be an affected community member/current non-affiliated consumer. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which will expire on June 30, 2012. (Seat 10)
Housing and Community Development Advisory Committee	Expired
Appointee shall represent low-income members, residents of target neighborhoods or minorities. Appointment is for an allocated 1-year term which commenced on July 1, 2010 and will expire on June 30, 2011. (Incumbent Clinton Brownley is eligible for reappointment).
Lower Peninsula Flood Control and Watershed (Northwest Zone)	Expired
Nominee shall reside within the zone they represent. Nomination for a representative for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for an allocated 2-year term which commenced on January 1, 2010 and will expire on December 31, 2011. (Incumbent Joseph Diaz is eligible for reappointment.)
Roads Commission	Expired
Appointee shall represent the public at large. Appointment is for an allocated 4-year term which commenced July 1, 2010 and will expire on June 30, 2014. (Incumbent Theordore Brown is eligible for reappointment.)
Santa Clara County Health Authority	Vacant
Nominee shall represent the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center physicians. Nomination for Board As-a-Whole appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced July 1, 2010 and will expire on June 30, 2013. (Vacant position formerly held by Jennifer Foreman.)
Saratoga Cemetery District Board of Trustees	Vacant
Nominee shall be a resident of the Cemetery District and a registered voter. Nomination is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced July 1, 2008 and expired on December 31, 2011. (Vacant position formerly held by Jane Hopkins.) Vacancy posted June 21, 2010; appointment may be made on or after July 6, 2010.
Saratoga Cemetery District Board of Trustees	Vacant
Nominee shall be a resident of the Cemetery District and a registered voter. Nomination is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced July 1, 2008 and will expire December 31, 2010. (Vacant position formerly held by Jim Sorden.).
Senior Care Commission	Vacant
Appointee shall be a senior citizen age 60 or more representing the public at large. Appointment is for an allocated 3-year term which commenced on July 1, 2010 and will expire on June 30, 2013. (Vacant position formerly held by Leonard Robins.)
